One thing I really don’t want to experience (because I have done so previously) is ending up with a broken water heater that drips & drips, destroying cabinets etc. in the process.
So I designed a disaster tray with a bottom drain, that will be mounted beneath the under-counter water heater. This contraption will collect any excess water coming from the heater and lead it into the sewage system.
The above picture (lower right corner) shows the 55 liter under-counter water heater mounted and ready for the plumber to hook up. I want to keep this kitchen as compact as possible without having to sacrifice any major appliance. The oven I’m installing later has a built in microwave and the only thing missing from the kitchen will be a dishwasher – in fact, I don’t even want one since this is vacation territory and ample time shall be offered for taking care of dishes 🙂
