In order to be able to evacuate the tower from the top in case of fire, there will be a roll-out ladder that attaches to metal loops on the roof. The skylight opens well enough for a fully grown person to get out, and the roll-out ladder can be released to either side of the tower. This evac layout is in fact a prerequisite – without this solution the building permit wouldn’t have been approved.
I managed to find a brand new, VELUX 78×140 pivoting window including all parts (even a custom curtain) on Swedish classifieds’ site “Blocket” – brand new in box, purchased years ago but never used, always stored indoors. Quite a find! A very nice gentleman met up with me at his home in Sollentuna, Stockholm, we loaded the window with all trim & fixings into my car and I brought it to the carpenter putting the off site roof together. The roof project is coming together – piece by piece!
