The tower will be clean and neat inside, with a minimum of visible appliances… at least that’s the vision. Respecting this idea, certain things must be kept out of sight. One thing that’s been gnawing away at my sense of aesthetics vs. function is the need of a water heater. The conundrum: I know the tower needs one, and I also know how bulky and visually obtrusive they typically are.
But after some research, I found a Swedish company named Metrotherm. They manufacture a 55L water heater, specifically designed to be able to fit into a kitchen cabinet, under-the-sink style. Keeping an eye on Swedish Craigslist equivalent “Blocket”, I just scored such a unit at a bargain price… let’s hope it works!
I’m aware 55 liters is kind on the low side… but with a lo-flo water preserving shower head and an environmentally conscious approach, I hope this unit will both allow doing the dishes AND taking short showers… perhaps optimally with a friend 🙂
